Frequently Asked Questions

What materials do you weave with?

I love using natural fibres, such as wool, cotton, linen, alpaca yarn, silk, and gorgeous hand-spun and hand-dyed yarns. I also adore using recycled silk and velvet ribbons, making fabric ribbons from old clothes, and yarns that would otherwise have been thrown away. I hand-dye yarns to get the perfect tonal variations I love in my landscapes. I favour buying from small businesses and finding my own wood to hang weavings on.

How do I care for my weaving?

Please treat your weaving gently, and take care not to pull or snag any loops or fibres. If your weaving is a little flat on arrival, you can very gently rub the palm of your hand over it to fluff it out. Dust can be carefully blown off your weaving (using a camera lens blower if you have one or a hair dryer on the gentle setting!) or it can be lightly dusted with a soft feather-type duster.

Do you make custom pieces?

Custom orders are very welcome - please see more info on the Commissions page! Please message me and we can discuss options and timescales. As long as I have suitable yarns, or can source them, I would be delighted to make something especially for you. I share photos to decide on the palette of yarns and style of weaving, the weaving in progress, and before posting! I love you to be part of the process to create your own glorious piece of original artwork!

Do you use eco-friendly packaging?

For packaging I use lovely plastic-free recyclable packing tape with a natural rubber adhesive; recyclable tissue made from recycled pulp fibres; and for gift wrapping I use uncoated, plastic-free wrapping paper that is not only gorgeous, but sustainable sourced and fully recyclable!

I try and reuse outer packaging whenever I have something suitable, or else recyclable cardboard.

Can you gift wrap the weaving?

Yes, I can happily gift wrap your weaving - just let me know! For gift wrapping I use uncoated, plastic-free wrapping paper that is not only gorgeous, but sustainable sourced and fully recyclable!
